Using your private medical insurance

Patients are often surprised and relieved to find that their medical insurance policy does give them cover for their cancer treatment - and that you can be treated at any of our HCA hospitals in London.

However, if you do plan to use your private medical insurance you need to contact your insurer first to find out the level of cover.  You may have limits on your policy, or excesses that you need to check first and it is important that you confirm cover before you commit yourself to any treatment.

All our facilities are recognised by all leading private medical insurers and our hospitals are included on the specialist gynaecological, bowel and breast cancer approved networks from the UK's leading medical insurer, BUPA.

You will need to contact your insurance company before you come into hospital as they will allocate a claim number and a claim form for your specialist to sign. When we have this from you we will be able to deal directly with your insurers so that you can concentrate on the really important things – your treatment and care.

Unless you have any specific policy exclusion or annual excess, you will not be required to make any payments yourself as we will invoice your insurance company directly.

Please also be aware that your insurance company will require a GP referral.

Screening is not normally covered by private medical insurance policies.
