Latest drugs & technologies

Medicine is no longer just about cure. The expectations and demands of the 21st century mean that people simply cannot afford long periods of treatment or illness that compromise their ability to continue with their daily lives.

Medical science addresses this need. Every year £billions are invested in new drugs and technologies, not only to find new cures for previously untreatable conditions but also to replace conventional techniques with new, faster and less invasive ways of treating them.

Inevitably, these treatments come with a price tag, but they also come with significant benefits. Benefits such as improved diagnosis, earlier and more effective treatment, faster recovery, shorter hospital stays, enhanced quality of life, reduced side effects and lower risk of recurrence.

As the only private hospital group specialising in complex care like cardiac disease and cancer, our mission at HCA is to make these new advances available first to our patients. These are the types of treatments that are not so readily available within the NHS.

We appreciate, however, that individuals and organisations often have to make decisions about funding these treatments with very limited knowledge about what is involved, the benefits, or why they have been recommended.

This is why we have prepared the Directory of New Drugs and Procedures in Private Healthcare as a resource for anyone who needs to make such a decision, or for those who want a better understanding of their medical costs.

We hope it is useful to you and if you need more detailed advice, then please do not hesitate to contact us. The resource will be updated on this website.
